Job summary

The Salvation Army Australia is seeking a casual Sales Assistant in Yass, NSW to support day-to-day store operations and create an inspiring in-store experience for staff and customers. Salary and conditions align with the Retail General Industry Award, Level 1, with a casual roaster including weekends.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will engage with the community, handle POS duties, assist in merchandising, and ensure high standards of customer service across locations within the retail

Qualifications

• Retail sales experience is preferred but not essential.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Alignment with TSA values: integrity, respect, compassion, collaboration, diversity.
• High energy, proactive with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to work weekends and across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Operate Point of Sale devices.
• Sort, price and prepare donations for sale.
• Assist in visual merchandising and store presentation.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Display stock in correct departments, following policy and procedure.
• Follow Occupational Health and Safety policy and procedures.
• Demonstrate TSA core values in all work-related activities.

About The Role

An opportunity for a talented, values-driven Casual Sales Assistant to support day-to-day operations and contribute to an inspiring in-store experience for our team, customers and community members. Reporting to the Area Manager, this casual role is based in Yass, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Retail General Industry Award, Level 1.

Key Responsibilities

• Retail sales and operation of Point of Sale devices
• Sort, price and prepare donations for sale.
• Assist in the development and coordination visual merchandising and store presentation
• Provide exceptional Customer Service
• Display stock in correct departments, following policy and procedure
• Follow Occupational Health and Safety policy and procedures
• Demonstrate TSA core values in all work related activities

About You

• Retail sales experience - highly regarded but not essential
• Strong customer service skills
• Genuine passion and ability to deliver outstanding results
• Alignment with our values of integrity, respect, compassion, collaboration, and diversity
• High energy, hand-on individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibly to work a rolling roster including weekends
• Preparedness to work across various locations in the retail area
