Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a casual Sales Assistant in Darwin, NT to support day-to-day store operations and create an engaging in-store experience for customers and the local community.

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will handle POS transactions, assist with donations, pricing, and merchandising while upholding safety policies and our core values of integrity, respect, compassion, collaboration and diversity.

Qualifications

• Retail sales experience is preferred but not essential.
• Strong customer service skills are required to deliver the in-store experience.
• Genuine passion and alignment with our values of integrity, respect, compassion, collaboration and diversity.
• High energy, hands-on approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work a rolling roster including weekends and across multiple retail locations.

Responsibilities

• Retail sales and operation of Point of Sale devices.
• Sort, price and prepare donations for sale.
• Assist in development and coordination of visual merchandising and store presentation.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Display stock in correct departments, following policy and procedure.
• Follow Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate The Salvation Army core values in all work activities.
