Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) is seeking a Casual Registered Nurse at Greystanes to cover AM, PM, and Night shifts. You will assess, plan, and manage nursing care for residents, develop care plans, and contribute to quarterly evaluations.

You will maintain quality documentation, support ACFI claims, and work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care with a positive, respectful approach.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
• Experience in residential aged care is desirable.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Sound knowledge of medication management and clinical documentation.
• Understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant legislation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Commitment to person-centred care and maintaining residents' dignity, choice and independence.
• Ability to work independently and make appropriate clinical decisions.
• Positive, professional and respectful approach to residents, families and colleagues.
• Current police check and other employment screening requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out initial and ongoing assessment, planning and management of nursing care for residents
• Develop personal care plans to ensure residents’ individual needs are identified and met, and monitor any changes in care plans
• Participate in quarterly care plan evaluations, or more frequently as needed
• Ensure all documentation required for quality care is prepared, maintained, monitored, evaluated, and up to date in accordance with SCC policies and procedures
• Ensure completion and accuracy of all ACFI claims
