Job summary

Mt Wilga Private Hospital is seeking a Food Services Assistant in a casual capacity to support our Catering Team. You will assist with food prep, serve meals to patients, and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.

In this hands-on role, you will work across a 7-day roster, collaborating with colleagues to ensure timely, high-quality meals that meet dietary requirements and hospital standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or hospital environment (highly desirable).
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and patient-focused approach.
• The ability to follow food safety, infection control, workplace health and safety and other hospital requirements.
• The ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive workplace environment, including a willingness to accept and promote Ramsay’s core values.
• Flexibility and availability to work across a 7-day roster.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with food preparation and the daily operations of the kitchen.
• Preparing and serving meals and beverages to patients, in line with dietary requirements and hospital standards.
• Cleaning meal trays, washing dishes and kitchen equipment, and maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe working environment at all times.
• Working collaboratively with your colleagues in the Catering Team to ensure meals and service are delivered efficiently and on time.
