Job summary

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking a casual Maternal and Child Health Nurse to support families from the postnatal period to school age. The role requires strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and a commitment to evidence-based practice within the Victorian MCH framework.

The successful candidate will have current AHPRA registration as a Nurse and Midwife, a postgraduate qualification in Family and Child Health, and a valid Victorian Driver Licence with a Working with Children

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA as RN and Midwife.
• Postgraduate qualification in Family and Child Health or equivalent.
• Current Victorian Driver Licence and Working with Children Check.
• Commitment to culturally responsive care and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Strong communication and customer service with diverse communities.
• Provision of Victorian Local Government Maternal and Child Health services.
• Understanding of women’s health issues including post-natal depression.
• Knowledge of CALD and First Nations needs.
• Facilitate community education/health programs for infants and families.
• Understand data sharing schemes and Child Safe Standards.
• Utilise evidence-based practice to evaluate and enhance service delivery.
