Job summary

Federation Council in Corowa is seeking friendly Learn to Swim instructors for casual positions. Up to 20 hours per week during NSW school terms, with potential for additional hours during school holidays and program expansion.

You will teach safe, enjoyable lessons to children, adults and NDIS clients, and communicate effectively while supporting lesson planning and program improvements. On-the-job training will help you achieve formal swim teaching qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering learn to swim classes or willingness to learn.
• Input into learn to swim lesson plans or contribute to workplace improvements.
• Accredited AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or the ability to acquire.
• Accredited AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infants and Preschool or the ability to acquire.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check and National Police Check or the ability to acquire.
• Provide First Aid and CPR qualification or ability to acquire within 3 months of commencement.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with participants of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, stimulating and fun lessons for all patrons.
• Motivate and educate participants to build confidence and safe water behaviours.
• Support the Learn to Swim program and contribute to planning and improvements.
