Job summary

Eureka Village Burrum River is seeking a Casual Grounds & Maintenance Officer to care for outdoor spaces at the village. You will maintain lawns, gardens, and pathways, ensure safety, and respond to maintenance requests in a fast-paced on-site environment.

Ideal candidates have experience in groundskeeping/landscaping, familiar with gardening tools and lawn equipment, and can work autonomously with strong time management and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or horticulture.
• Familiarity with gardening tools, lawnmowers, and outdoor equipment.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures for outdoor work and chemical handling.
• Ability to perform manual labour in varying weather.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment checks including police history check.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Demonstrates flexibility with shifting priorities and weather.
• Performs dual roles in groundskeeping and general maintenance to present the park well.
• Works autonomously with good time management and prioritization.
• Takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe environment for guests and residents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and care for outdoor spaces including lawns, gardens, and pathways.
• Perform routine cleaning such as rubbish removal and debris clearing.
• Inspect and operate outdoor equipment, gardening tools, and irrigation systems.
• Identify hazards and address safety concerns in outdoor areas.
• Respond to ad-hoc maintenance requests from residents and Village Manager.
