Job summary

Story House Early Learning is seeking a qualified Chef to join our new 38-place boutique early childhood centre in Caringbah, Sutherland Shire. You will design and implement a nutritious, Munch & Move–approved menu for children aged 0–6 years and work with a supportive team in a brand-new kitchen.

This fixed-term contract from October 2026 to May 2027 offers a 37.5-hour week with early starts and a Monday–Friday schedule, plus opportunities for long-term growth and a flexible part-time

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef in an early learning setting preferred.
• Ability to design and implement a Munch & Move-approved menu for children 0–6 years.
• Knowledge of children’s nutritional requirements and diverse foods.

Job description

We are seeking a qualified Chef to join our 38-place boutique early childhood centre located in Caringbah, in the Sutherland Shire.

Our service operates Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 6:00pm and is closed on all NSW public holidays, as well as during our Christmas shutdown period.

Our centre features a brand-new, fully equipped commercial kitchen designed with a modern, natural aesthetic, making it an enjoyable and inspiring space to work.

We are looking for someone interested in a long-term role who can work collaboratively with our team to design and implement a Munch & Move-approved menu for children aged 0–6 years. We value an interactive chef who is passionate about introducing children to a variety of nutritious and culturally diverse foods and experiences.

• Strong organisational and time management skills
