Job summary

Care For You at Home is seeking a Casual Domestic Assistant to join our flexible care team delivering care and support in the Port Stephens and Newcastle area.

You will help clients maintain a safe, clean and comfortable home environment, supporting their independence, dignity and wellbeing, and work across client homes in line with care plans and our health, safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in domestic cleaning or community/home care.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Current drivers licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.
• Working with Children Check.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Ability to exercise initiative and judgment where practice is not clearly defined.
• Completion of manual handling, infection control, and relevant training.
• Experience in aged care, disability or community support
• Knowledge of My Aged Care and NDIS frameworks

Responsibilities

• Provide professional domestic cleaning and household support.
• Vacuum, mop, dust and clean kitchens, bathrooms and living areas.
• Complete laundry, folding and clothing care.
• Assist with minor meal preparation.
• Safely use cleaning equipment, products and supplies.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and infection control.
• Follow client care plans and WHS/manual handling requirements.
• Complete accurate service records, timesheets and client documentation.
• Identify and report hazards, risks or changes in the client environment.
• Travel between client homes safely and transport required equipment.
• Build respectful, positive relationships with clients, families and the wider care team
