Job summary

1300SMILES Bundaberg Post Office is seeking a Casual Dental Assistant to support clinicians and help patients feel comfortable during visits. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a busy practice, assist across procedures, manage room setup, and contribute to infection control and a positive patient experience.

Ideally you’ll have a Certificate III in Dental Assisting or relevant experience, with a friendly, reliable and team‑oriented approach. Casual flexibility is offered.

Qualifications

• Previous Dental Assisting experience and/or a Certificate III or above in Dental Assisting is highly regarded, but not essential
• A friendly, confident and approachable manner
• Strong communication and organisation skills
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Reliability and a strong work ethic
• The ability to work well as part of a team
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow processes

Responsibilities

• Assisting dentists and clinicians across a range of procedures
• Providing chairside assistance and anticipating the needs of the clinician
• Preparing treatment rooms, instruments and equipment
• Welcoming patients and helping them feel comfortable throughout their appointment
• Maintaining clean, organised and well‑prepared clinical areas
• Sterilising instruments and following infection control procedures
• Working collaboratively with the wider team to deliver a positive patient experience
