Job summary

Junction Village Dental in The Junction NSW is seeking a friendly Casual Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team 3–4 days per week, with a pathway to permanent part-time for the right person. You'll chairside assist across a full range of dental treatments, prepare rooms, take X-rays, and help with reception when needed.

A Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting is preferred, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (or equivalent).
• Experience in a dental practice preferred but not essential.
• Confident on reception with patient-facing communication.

Junction Village Dental is a welcoming, family-focused practice in The Junction, Newcastle. We're looking for a friendly and reliable Casual Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team 3–4 days per week, with the opportunity to grow into a permanent part-time position for the right person.

What you'll be doing

• Chairside assisting across a full range of dental treatments
• Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising instruments to the highest standards
• Taking dental X-rays and pouring impressions
• Making retainers and mouthgaurds
• Supporting reception with patient bookings, billing, and enquiries when needed
• Maintaining infection control and OH&S compliance
• Helping create a calm, positive experience for every patient (little and big)
• Pitching in wherever the team needs you on the day

Who we're looking for

You're someone who enjoys variety in your day and is happy to learn across different areas of the practice. Our team takes turns assisting for different practioners, in steri, and at the front desk, so you'll always have support around you and the chance to build a broad skill set at your own pace.

You're warm, reliable, and genuinely care about people. You work well in a team, stay calm when it gets busy, and take pride in what you do.

Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (or equivalent)

Experience in a dental practice (preferred but not essential for the right person)
