Job summary

The University of Queensland is seeking a reliable Casual Farm Animal Attendant to support the care and welfare of production animals at our Gatton Campus. This entry-level role offers on-the-job training in a rural environment and provides a practical starting point for a career in animal attendance, farm operations or veterinary assistance.

You will perform milking, calf feeding and assist with feeding dairy stock, while maintaining safe, clean facilities and assisting with animal movement.

Qualifications

• Completion of Year 10.
• A current Queensland open driver licence, Class C.
• The physical capacity to safely perform the inherent requirements of the role.
• The ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment.
• The ability to communicate respectfully with staff, students, clients and external suppliers.
• An understanding of the importance of providing excellent client service.
• Care, patience and compassion when working with production animals.
• Availability to work weekend and public holiday shifts.
• Basic computer skills and prior experience with production animal systems is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Casual position with an hourly rate in the range of $41 to $43 per hour, plus superannuation of 12% (HEW Level 1).

Weekend and public holiday shifts are required.
