Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) invites applications for a Casual Registered Nurse position in Cootamundra. You will deliver direct nursing care, assess and plan resident needs, and administer medications in line with protocols.

You will work within a supportive team, focusing on person-centred care, strong communication, and flexible scheduling to fit your lifestyle while contributing to safe, respectful aged care for residents.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with AHPRA as a nurse.
• Experience in aged care or residential care preferred.
• Knowledge of aged care principles, practices and relevant legislation.
• Excellent clinical nursing skills and ability to provide person-centred care.
• Proficiency in medication management and administration.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with residents, families and colleagues.
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to varying workloads in a casual capacity.
• Willing to obtain First Aid and CPR if not current.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to aged care residents.
• Assess, plan and evaluate resident care needs.
• Administer medications per protocols and legislation.
• Monitor residents health status and report changes.
• Assist with activities of daily living.
• Maintain accurate resident health records.
• Collaborate with care teams to implement care plans.
• Provide wound care and infection prevention as required.
• Support infection prevention and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate with residents, families and staff with empathy.
