Job summary

Interex Custom Joinery is seeking a Carpenter for a permanent full-time position in Prestons, Sydney. The role covers workshop manufacturing and site installation of custom joinery and cabinetry for residential and commercial projects.

The successful candidate will read drawings, fabricate timber components, install joinery, and ensure quality finishes across projects. AQF Certificate III in Carpentry and relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III in Carpentry or Certificate IV or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 12 months’ relevant carpentry/joinery experience.
• Experience manufacturing and/or installing detailed joinery across residential or commercial projects.
• Experience with cabinet making, custom joinery, shopfitting or similar.
• Ability to read architectural/shop drawings, plans and measurements.
• Practical experience cutting, shaping, assembling and installing timber/joinery components.
• Competence using carpentry hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery.
• Current construction White Card and Australian driver’s licence desirable for workshop/site duties.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings to determine measurements, materials and installation requirements.
• Manufacture and assemble timber components and joinery in the workshop.
• Install joinery across residential and commercial fit-out projects.
• Carry out cabinet making and factory production activities.
• Cut, shape, assemble and join timber and board materials using tools and machinery.
• Check site measurements prior to manufacture and installation.
• Coordinate installation activities with supervisors and tradespeople.
• Repair, adjust and maintain existing timber fittings and joinery.
