Job summary

Taylor Carpentry Holdings Pty Ltd, based in Sydney, is seeking experienced carpenters to join our permanent full-time team, working on projects across Sydney's East and Inner West with some site work in Wollongong.

Ideal candidates have a carpentry trade qualification (Cert III or equivalent), at least 3 years' experience, and a current White Card. You will read structural drawings, mentor juniors, and contribute to quality workmanship outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

• Must hold a carpentry trade qualification (Cert III or equivalent)
• At least 3 years' experience as a carpenter
• Current White Card (Construction Induction)
• Confidence reading structural and architectural drawings, with strong measuring and calculation skills
• Heritage or timber window restoration experience is highly regarded
• Experience guiding apprentices or junior carpenters
• Own hand and power tools, valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
• Mature, solutions-focused approach and clear communication
• Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather
• Full Australian working rights and current Sydney residence

Responsibilities

• Structural floor framing to project specifications and safety standards
• Restoring existing timber windows while preserving their structural integrity and character
• Installing new timber windows with correct alignment, sealing and a secure fit
• Structural carpentry from architectural and structural drawings and construction documentation
• Working under limited supervision, on your own or as part of a team
• Supervising and mentoring up to four carpenters or apprentices
• Applying quality control and checking materials and finished work against specifications
• Managing materials and sequencing work so the job keeps moving
• Following site-specific safety procedures, SWMS and the National Construction Code

Taylor Carpentry Holdings (TCH) is a Sydney contracting business specialising in commercial and residential carpentry and joinery. Our reputation is built on craftsmanship, precision and attention to detail. We are looking for experienced Carpenters to join our team on a permanent full-time basis, working on project sites across Sydney's East and Inner West with sites in Wollongong.

Key responsibilities

Structural floor framing to project specifications and safety standards

Restoring existing timber windows while preserving their structural integrity and character

Installing new timber windows with correct alignment, sealing and a secure fit

Structural carpentry from architectural and structural drawings and construction documentation

Working under limited supervision, on your own or as part of a team

Supervising and mentoring up to four carpenters or apprentices, including allocating tasks and passing on skills

Applying quality control and checking materials and finished work against specifications

Managing materials and sequencing work so the job keeps moving

Following site-specific safety procedures, SWMS and the National Construction Code

About you

A carpentry trade qualification (Cert III or equivalent), or equivalent skills gained through experience, subject to competency assessment

At least 3 years' experience as a carpenter

A current White Card (Construction Induction)
