Downer has been awarded the Property and Asset Services (PAS) contract to deliver base and estate services across their two largest regions NSW / ACT and QLD. This is a significant milestone for our business and our enduring 80 year relationship with the Australian Defence Force.

What You’ll Do

This role offers a broad scope with key responsibilities including:

  • Undertake carpentry fitting and minor maintenance works at a single Defence base ensuring buildings, structures, plant and equipment are maintained to required standards.
  • Perform carpentry joinery and basic building works including repairs, installation and maintenance of structures and fixtures.
  • Deliver both preventative and responsive works in accordance with statutory, contractual and safety requirements applying trade expertise across carpentry and general facility upkeep.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all stakeholders including colleagues, customers and the general public.
What You’ll Bring
  • Certificate III in Carpentry.
  • Post‑trade experience in carpentry and/or mechanical fitting within a facilities maintenance environment.
  • Working at Heights qualification (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in preventative and corrective maintenance of building structures, fixtures and mechanical plant/equipment.
  • Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade or equivalent mechanical fitting qualification (desirable).
  • Current Open Driver’s Licence.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship is mandatory).
