Overview

Carers NSW is the peak organisation for carers in NSW. We are a not-for-profit organisation connecting and empowering carers across NSW and improving their quality of life through activities programs training and policy advice. We advocate for carers of all ages and circumstances.

As the Carer Project Officer you will be responsible for promoting the recognition of identified carer groups and providing information and support to these groups. This role will also be responsible for building the capacity of organisations to meet the needs to these identified groups.

This is a parental leave cover position full time until December 2026.

Ideal candidate
  • Tertiary qualifications in social science welfare or related discipline
  • Demonstrated capacity to produce high quality information resources
  • Demonstrated experience working sensitively with marginalised or disadvantaged communities
  • Experienced in collating research and data to inform the development of activities or resource development
  • Awareness and understanding of the challenges experienced by carers
  • Awareness and understanding of accessibility standards
  • Proven ability to build rapport with other organisations and service providers
  • Experience developing or contributing to e-learning resources and other audio-visual resources
  • Strong time management and task prioritising skills
  • High level written oral communication and computer skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and within a team environment

Salary and benefits
