The Tasmanian Cardiothoracic Unit at Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking applicants for the 2027 training year as an Unaccredited Registrar in Cardiothoracic Surgery. The unit provides exposure to a wide range of cardiac and thoracic procedures and includes teaching and supervision of interns and medical students.

The role involves peri-operative management, outpatient clinics, operative surgery and research opportunities, with a 1:3 on-call pattern and a fixed-term, full-time schedule commencing 1

Qualifications

• Registration or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Current Working with Children Registration where applicable and as determined by position requirements.
• Pre-employment checks including identity and criminal history checks.

Responsabilités

• Day-to-day management of inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital.
• Provide after-hours emergency cover as required.
• Peri-operative management, outpatient clinics and operative surgery.
• Teach and supervise interns and medical students rotating through the unit.
• Support research projects during the year.
