Job summary

NSW Health, Westmead Hospital, is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for a temporary part-time role in a high-volume cardiology service. You will perform comprehensive echocardiography across inpatient and outpatient settings, contributing to timely diagnostic imaging and patient care.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of cardiac conditions, ongoing professional development, and a collaborative multidisciplinary team. On-call duties and career progression opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualifications in Medical Sonography (Cardiac).

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality echocardiographic examinations in accordance with professional standards, department protocols and best practice guidelines.
• Manage and prioritise a varied workload to meet the demands of a busy tertiary hospital environment.
• Adapt examination techniques to ensure optimal diagnostic outcomes and address complex clinical presentations.
• Work closely with Cardiologists, Sonographers and broader multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient and patient-focused services.
• Participate in the department's 24/7 on-call roster while maintaining a commitment to continuous professional development and clinical excellence.

What you'll be doing

• Accredited by the Australian Sonographer accreditation registry.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Medical Sonography (Cardiac).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment towards a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
