Job summary

St Vincent’s Health Australia seeks an experienced cardiac nurse at The Mater hospital in North Sydney. The role provides advanced, evidence-based nursing care for cardiac patients, with leadership responsibilities and involvement in care coordination and education.

The position requires 4+ years post-registration experience in interventional cardiac nursing, with opportunities to contribute to quality improvement, clinical education, and research within a supportive, not-for-profit environment.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration.
• Minimum 4 years’ post-registration nursing experience, with substantial experience in Interventional cardiac and/or cardiothoracic nursing.
• Experience in Telemetry, Cardiac monitoring, or Acute Coronary syndromes.
• Approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to cardiac nursing or working towards.
• Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and decision-making in cardiac care.
• Commitment to patient-centred care, safety, and continuous quality improvement.
• Compilation of rosters.
• Policy review.
• Involvement in clinical education, research, or quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced, evidence-based nursing care to patients with cardiac, vascular and renal conditions.
• Demonstrate clinical leadership and act as a resource and role model for nursing staff.
• Contribute to care coordination, discharge planning, and patient education.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, audits, and implementation of clinical guidelines.
• Participate in education, mentoring, and skill development of nursing staff.
• Collaborate with medical, allied health, and nurse management teams.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
