Job summary

At Toll Group, the Capability Innovation and Efficiency Manager will lead a national program across Defence Theatre Logistics warehousing to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and capability development. The role influences senior stakeholders, delivering technology and process improvements to optimise warehouse operations across a national network.

You will champion Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies, manage budgets and programs, and collaborate with Defence and operational leaders

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, engineering or warehouse operations, including senior leadership responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and operational excellence methodologies.
• Experience delivering warehouse optimisation, automation and technology-enabled improvements.
• Demonstrated capability managing programs, budgets, business cases, suppliers and operational risks.

• Develop business cases, delivery roadmaps and governance frameworks that align with contractual and strategic objectives.
• Drive warehouse process standardisation, facility optimisation and operating model improvements across multiple sites.

• Oversee the national material handling equipment (MHE) portfolio, including lifecycle planning, utilisation and performance management.
• Partner with Defence, operational leaders and functional stakeholders to deliver sustainable business outcomes and change initiatives.

About the Role

As the Capability Innovation and Efficiency Manager, you will lead the national Capability Innovation and Efficiency Program across Defence Theatre Logistics warehousing operations, driving continuous improvement, innovation, operational excellence and capability development. This is a strategic leadership role where you'll influence senior stakeholders, deliver technology and process improvements, and optimise warehouse operations to enhance safety, compliance, readiness and performance across a national network.

A day in the life of a Capability Innovation and Efficiency Manager at Toll

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Lean, Kaizen or Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or higher).
• Australian Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency Defence Security Clearance.

• 5+ years' experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, engineering or warehouse operations, including senior leadership responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and operational excellence methodologies.
• Experience delivering warehouse optimisation, automation and technology-enabled improvements.
• Demonstrated capability managing programs, budgets, business cases, suppliers and operational risks.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, leadership and influencing skills across complex environments.
• Proven track record delivering measurable improvements in safety, efficiency, compliance and operational performance.
