Qualifications

• Experience in school canteens or retail food service is preferred.

Our tuckshop is a proudly school-owned and operated retail and catering service, servicing approximately 1,117 students and 160 staff each day. In addition to our regular tuckshop service, we provide in-house catering for school events and activities, making this a varied and active food service environment.

Your opportunity:

Working as part of our tuckshop team, you will assist with the day-to-day operation of a busy school food service, retail and catering environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving food and beverages
• Serving students and staff in a friendly and efficient manner
• Processing in-person and online student and staff orders through Flexischools
• Handling cash, EFTPOS and other retail transactions accurately
• Assisting with food preparation and daily tuckshop operations
• Stock handling, including receiving, checking, storing and rotating stock
• Supporting food safety compliance and maintaining high standards of food handling
• Maintaining appropriate workplace hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards
• Contributing to effective operational efficiency across the tuckshop
• Assisting with in-house catering for school events and activities
• Working collaboratively with the Tuckshop Convenor and Retail Manager
• Contributing ideas and suggestions to improve our menu, service and day-to-day operations
• Following the Smart Choices - Healthy Food and Drink Supply Strategy for Queensland Schools
• Engaging with the Queensland Association of School Tuckshops (QAST) and its resources, professional development and training opportunities
