Job summary

Core Experts Consulting is seeking an experienced Calypso Developer to join our team onsite with a key client in the financial services sector. The role can be permanent or contract, and involves delivering mission-critical trading and risk solutions on the Calypso platform.

You will design, build, and maintain Calypso-based applications, write Java code, implement APIs, and work across integration, reporting, and deployment, collaborating closely with analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years IT experience with hands-on Java development.
• Proven Calypso platform experience (development, customization, or support).
• Experience with system integration (APIs, messaging, file interfaces).
• Experience with scheduled/batch jobs and custom reporting in Calypso.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain financial software applications using the Calypso platform

• Develop and maintain scheduled tasks, custom reports, and APIs within Calypso
• Undertake system integration work, connecting Calypso with upstream/downstream systems

We are seeking an experienced Calypso Developer to join our team, working on-site with one of our key clients in the financial services sector. This role is available on either a permanent or contract basis and offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical trading and risk systems within a leading financial institution. The successful candidate will design, build, and maintain financial software solutions on the Calypso platform, playing a key role in customizing and extending core Calypso functionality to meet complex business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain financial software applications using the Calypso platform
• Write Java code to customize Calypso engines, workflows, and business logic
• Develop and maintain scheduled tasks, custom reports, and APIs within Calypso
• Undertake system integration work, connecting Calypso with upstream/downstream systems

Your experience and qualifications

• 6+ years of overall IT experience with strong hands-on experience with Java development
• Proven experience working with the Calypso platform (development, customization, or support)
• Experience with system integration (messaging, APIs, file-based interfaces, etc.)
• Experience with scheduled/batch job development and custom reporting within Calypso
• Understanding of financial products such as FX, Money Markets, Derivatives, Fixed Income, or Repo (preferred)
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with both technical and business stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment
• Experience in the banking or capital markets domain
• Exposure to Calypso APIs, BOF (Business Object Framework), and Calypso configuration
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies
• Prior experience working in consulting or client-facing delivery roles
