Epoch Cafe is a vibrant and contemporary café centrally located within the iconic WA Museum Boola Bardip. Our menu celebrates native and locally sourced ingredients, offering a relaxed yet refined dining experience to museum visitors and locals alike.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cafe Manager to lead our front‑of‑house team and ensure the smooth daily operation of Epoch Café. This hands‑on leadership role requires a proactive professional who can manage staff, maintain high service standards, and drive operational excellence in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily café operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient service flow.
  • Maintain high presentation and cleanliness standards across all service areas.
  • Monitor and control stock levels, ordering supplies through approved vendors.
  • Liaise with kitchen, health & safety, and museum teams to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Manage cash handling, banking, and reconciliation processes.
  • Maintain and update POS systems, menu pricing, and specials.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the café team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Prepare and manage staff rosters and approve timesheets.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop front‑of‑house team members.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive team culture.
  • Customer Experience: Engage with customers to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere; respond promptly and professionally to feedback or complaints; ensure team members are knowledgeable about the menu, specials, and museum offerings.
