The Cafe Manager will be instrumental in providing healthy nutritious meals for the College Community.
The Cafe Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of the College’s Cafe Menu providing healthy food choices for students and staff. The Cafe Manager will ensure the efficient operation of the Cafe. They will also be required to manage catering and coordination of key College events. The Cafe Manager must possess strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement and communication with students, staff and parents, and have a comprehensive understanding of food safety and hygiene. Additionally, they should be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team. The Cafe Manager will lead a small team of staff.
Manage and maintain the overall operation of the College Cafe.
Design and implement menus for distribution of food and drinks to students in keeping with the College’s Healthy Eating Policy with particular attention to the nutritious value of food and value for money.
Cater for College events as requested by the Principal or their delegate.
Build and maintain productive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including parents, staff and community organisations.
Keep abreast of developments in practice, guidelines and industry changes through continuous professional learning and training and be prepared to implement the same.
Stay updated on the School Traffic Light System.
Review the method for ordering and distributing of lunches to students if necessary.
Observe legislated hygiene requirements (e.g. gloves, covered shoes and hair covering).
Ensure that the College Cafe and equipment are hygienically clean to meet the standards as set by the Health Department.
Order supplies and stock take as required.
Have food and drinks ready to be served at all times specified by the student timetable.
Take orders from and supply lunches to College staff if required.
Prepare breakfast served to students when undertaking sport training before school.
Coordinate and promote key College events and community engagement activities working in collaboration with others as required.
Other duties as directed by the Principal or delegate.
