Job summary

Coffee Joint on Napier in Melbourne is seeking a Barista to join our cafe team. You will provide outstanding customer service, prepare espresso drinks, manage takeaway orders, and help maintain a clean, inviting space.

You will train new staff as needed, coordinate delivery apps, restock counters, and ensure food safety and OH&S compliance. A friendly, efficient approach in a fast-paced cafe is valued.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide excellent service while taking take-away orders.
• Oversee beverage preparation and ensure quality before serving.
• Keep coffee-making equipment clean and perform end-of-day cleaning.
• Prepare espresso drinks and other beverages; assist training new staff.
• Prepare cafe and counters before, during and after service.
• Restock shelves with baked goods, snacks, and drinks.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the menu and daily specials.
• Present menus, inform customers of daily specials, and take orders to the kitchen.
• Process payments and present bills to customers.
• Prepare and reset tables for the next customers; clear dishes and wipe down surfaces.
• Assist with washing glasses, plates, and utensils during slow times.
• Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
• Prepare takeaway rolls and sandwiches for display." Coordinate MenuLog, Uber, and DoorDash orders for pickup.
• Adhere to food safety standards and OH&S regulations.
• Assist Owner/Director with other tasks as required.
