Job summary

Ivan's Pies in Braeside, Victoria, is seeking enthusiastic Cafe Assistants to help deliver friendly service and delicious food to our community. You'll be the friendly face of our cafe, supporting front-of-house and kitchen operations, from preparing food and drinks to serving customers and operating the POS.

This casual role offers training, a supportive team environment, a daily pie allowance, and staff discounts across the Ivan’s Pies range.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or customer service, ideally in a cafe.
• Friendly, reliable, and team-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide warm, attentive service.
• Take orders, operate the POS system, and process cash and card transactions.
• Assist with the preparation and service of food, coffee, and cold drinks.
• Clear tables, wash dishes, and maintain a clean and welcoming cafe environment.
• Support the team with stock rotation, restocking, and display presentation.

We are a proudly Australian-owned and operated food manufacturing company, known for our commitment to producing high-quality artisanal pies and pastries. With a newly renovated cafe and shopfront in Braeside, we are seeking enthusiastic Cafe Assistants to help deliver friendly service and delicious food to our community.

About The Role

You’ll be the friendly face of our cafe, supporting both front-of-house and kitchen operations. From preparing food and drinks to serving customers, operating the point-of-sale system, and maintaining a clean and welcoming cafe environment, no two days will be the same.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide warm, attentive service.
• Take orders, operate the POS system, and process cash and card transactions.
• Assist with the preparation and service of food, coffee, and cold drinks.
• Clear tables, wash dishes, and maintain a clean and welcoming cafe environment.
• Support the team with stock rotation, restocking, and display presentation.
• Uphold food safety, hygiene, and cafe service standards at all times.

About You

• Available to work Monday to Saturday (between 5:30 am and 5:30 pm)
• Experienced in hospitality or customer service, ideally within a cafe environment.
• Barista skills a bonus, although not essential as full training will be provided.
• Friendly, reliable, and team-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
