Job summary

Skill Hire GTO is offering a Cabinet Making Apprenticeship across multiple locations north and south of Perth. This opportunity lets you earn while you learn, with a weekly wage that increases each year as you gain skills.

You will work toward a nationally recognised Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology over four structured years, with mentoring from experienced professionals and hands-on experience in cabinetry and joinery.

Qualifications

• Pre-apprenticeship preferred (Certificate II in Construction Pathways, Furniture, or Cabinet Making) but not essential.
• Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology pursued during apprenticeship.
• Must pass pre-employment medical, including drug/alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and install custom cabinetry and furniture for residential and commercial fit-outs.
• Measure, cut, assemble and finish timber and board materials.
• Read and interpret plans and design drawings.

What You’ll Be Learning

As a Cabinet Making Apprentice, you’ll gain hands-on experience across all aspects of cabinetry and joinery, including:

• Manufacturing and installing custom cabinetry and furniture
• Working on residential and commercial fit-outs (kitchens, bathrooms, offices)
• Measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing timber and board materials
• Using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
• Reading and interpreting plans and design drawings
• Maintaining high attention to detail and quality finishes
• Working safely and consistently by following company procedures and industry standards

You’ll receive a combination of on-the-job and off-the-job training, working toward completion of your Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Completed a Pre-Apprenticeship (Certificate II in Construction Pathways, Furniture, or Cabinet Making preferred, but not essential)
• A current Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
• A Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
• Strong attention to detail and an interest in working with your hands
