Job summary

Skill Hire GTO in Western Australia offers a Cabinet Making Apprenticeship in Perth and surrounding areas. You will earn while you learn with a weekly wage that increases each year and work toward a nationally recognised Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across cabinetry and joinery, including manufacturing, installing, and reading plans, while following industry standards and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Pre-Apprenticeship/entry pathway is preferred but not essential
• Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle are required
• Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening
• Strong attention to detail and interest in hands-on cabinet work

• Working on residential and commercial fit-outs (kitchens, bathrooms, offices)

What You’ll Be Learning

As a Cabinet Making Apprentice, you’ll gain hands‑on experience across all aspects of cabinetry and joinery, including:

• Manufacturing and installing custom cabinetry and furniture
• Working on residential and commercial fit‑outs (kitchens, bathrooms, offices)
• Measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing timber and board materials
• Using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
• Reading and interpreting plans and design drawings
• Maintaining high attention to detail and quality finishes
• Working safely and consistently by following company procedures and industry standards

You’ll receive a combination of on‑the‑job and off‑the‑job training, working toward completion of your Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Completed a Pre‑Apprenticeship (Certificate II in Construction Pathways, Furniture, or Cabinet Making preferred, but not essential)
• A current Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
