Job summary

Qualifications

Position Overview

Based in Sydney

Rex Airlines (Regional Express) is Australia's largest independent regional airline operating a fleet of Saab 340 aircraft providing a link between cities and regional Australia.

Our flight attendants are well known for their warm and genuine inflight service and won the Apex Award 2024 for Best Cabin Service in the South Pacific, a testament to our team's dedication.

Rex is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as full‑time solo flight attendants based in Sydney.

Responsibilities
  • Independent and self‑reliant: manage the entire cabin independently ensuring safety and comfort of passengers throughout the flight.
  • Customer‑focused: manage your own cabin and provide caring and personalized service whilst travelling to some of Australia's most unique destinations.
  • Detail‑oriented and safety‑conscious: manage in‑flight services while maintaining a high standard of safety and compliance with aviation regulations.
  • Duties:
    • equipment/security checks
    • in‑flight announcements
    • food & beverage service
    • cleaning duties
    • handling various situations that may occur in the cabin on your own

The role offers a great work/life balance along with competitive remuneration and includes working on weekends, public holidays, shift work (which includes early starts & late finishes) and some nights spent away from home.

Qualifications
  • Be 18 years of age or over
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
  • Be no taller than 173 cm
  • Hold a current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
  • Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate – completed within the last 3 years
  • Be able to demonstrate that you have:
    • Completed a minimum 3 years of secondary education in Australia or New Zealand
    • Worked in Australia or New Zealand for at least 3 of the last 5 years
    • Worked in the UK, Ireland or USA for at least 3 of the last 5 years
    • Completed the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall grade of 5.5
  • Be able to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) which involves a police security check
  • Be passionate about your role and committed to delivering exceptional and consistent customer service
  • Be able to swim fully clothed without aid or floating device (a swim assessment is required)
  • Be flexible and adaptable; working hours will vary and include working during holiday times and peak periods
  • Have a high level of personal presentation
  • Have a natural willingness to please and care for people

Extensive training will be provided; flying experience is not required.
