Job summary

Piper Fitzgerald, a boutique chartered accounting and tax practice in Australia, is seeking a Manager to take ownership of a client portfolio within the Business Services team. Reporting to the partners, you will review financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs and individuals; advising on tax planning and business performance.

The role includes mentoring junior staff, shaping workflow, and aiming for a genuine partnership pathway.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified.
• Substantial Australian public practice experience, including demonstrated review responsibility.
• Confidence dealing directly with clients, including the difficult conversations.
• Genuine interest in advisory work, not just compliance volume.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.
• Strong technology skills across Xero and the usual practice suite.

Responsibilities

• Review financial statements and income tax returns across companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs and individuals; act as the primary contact for clients; advise on tax planning, structuring, succession and business performance.
• Mentor and develop intermediate and senior accountants; manage workflow, WIP and billing across the portfolio.
