Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is recruiting a Business Performance Analyst to support the financial performance of The Wesley Hospital, St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital and Corporate Hospital functions during a major finance transformation. You’ll work with operational leaders and finance stakeholders to deliver insights, forecasting, business case support and decision-making analysis.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in management accounting, business performance analysis or finance business partnering.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, reporting and performance analysis skills.
• Advanced analytics with large datasets and actionable insights.
• Advanced Excel and experience with BI/EPM systems.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• CA/CPA qualification (or working towards) is highly regarded; healthcare/SAP/Power BI experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with hospital leaders and finance stakeholders to provide proactive financial advice, analysis and reporting.
• Deliver month-end performance analysis, identifying drivers, risks, opportunities and actions.
• Translate financial and operational data into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and planning with evidence-based assumptions.
• Assist with Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) activities including validation and reconciliations.
• Prepare business cases, investment analysis and financial modelling for service improvements.
• Support month-end/year-end processes, including reconciliations and journals.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, processes and financial controls within finance transformation.

As a Business Performance Analyst , you’ll play a critical role in supporting the financial performance of The Wesley Hospital, St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital and Corporate Hospital functions during a significant period of finance transformation. Working closely with operational leaders and finance stakeholders, you’ll deliver performance insights, forecasting, business case support and decision-making analysis that helps drive sustainable outcomes across our hospital network.

Please note, this position is a 12-month fixed-term contract with flexible work arrangements available subject to operational requirements.

Your part in our UnitingCare team:

• Partner with hospital leaders and finance stakeholders to provide proactive financial advice, analysis and reporting that supports informed business decisions.

• Deliver month-end performance analysis, identifying key drivers, risks, opportunities and practical actions to improve financial outcomes.

• Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.

• Support budgeting, forecasting and planning activities, ensuring assumptions are evidence-based, robust and aligned to business objectives.

• Assist with the delivery of Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) activities, including validation, testing, reconciliations and transition support.

• Prepare business cases, investment analysis and financial modelling to support service improvements and strategic initiatives

• Support month-end and year-end financial processes, including reconciliations, journals, reporting and governance requirements.

• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, processes and financial controls while contributing to ongoing finance transformation initiatives.
  

What makes a difference for us?

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience in management accounting, business performance analysis or finance business partnering within a complex organisation.

• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, financial controls and performance analysis.

• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and provide meaningful business insights.

• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with enterprise finance, planning or business intelligence systems.

• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines.

• CA/CPA qualification (or working towards) will be highly regarded, as will experience in healthcare, hospitals, SAP, Power BI or EPM platforms.
