A leading educational institution in Western Australia is seeking an experienced College Business Manager to oversee financial and business operations. Clontarf Aboriginal College is a co-educational Catholic CARE (Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education) School in Perth that caters for Aboriginal students in Years 7-12. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for educationally marginalised students from metropolitan, rural and remote locations. Our on-site boarding house provides a unique setting for students to develop lifelong skills whilst accessing a quality education.
We are inviting applicants for the position of College Business Manager. The Business Manager is a member of the College Executive Leadership Team and is responsible to the Principal for the sound financial and business management of the College. Key leadership responsibilities include financial management, human resource and payroll management, facilities and services management, strategic planning and risk and compliance. The Business Manager works closely with the Principal to ensure effective stewardship of the College to enable us to provide a safe and welcoming living and educational setting for our students.
The successful applicant will have a deep understanding of financial and business management. They will have the demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with students, families and staff. The Business Manager will possess clear communication skills, be highly organised, and be equipped to lead staff in a dynamic and visionary educational and residential setting.
About the Business Manager
This is a senior position within Clontarf Aboriginal College Executive Leadership Team.
In this position you report directly to the Principal. This position is responsible for the efficient stewardship of the College.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Human resource and payroll management.
Facilities and services management
Strategic planning
Procurement

SELECTION CRITERIA
Applicants must have all necessary qualifications and be fully supportive of the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education.
Relevant qualification in Business Management, Economics, Accounting or related area.
Ability to work at an Executive level including Advisory Council reporting and demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve the College goals using contemporary business practices.
Demonstrated ability to project manage capital works programs, including those associated with Workplace Health & Safe ty, risk management, budget and resource management.
Ability to work autonomously and demonstrated initiative and innovative thinking in dealing with issues in a decisive and consistent manner.

Highly Desirable:
Experience in the education sector, including an understanding of educational legislative requirements, including Catholic Education Commission of WA, State and Federal Government policy and funding arrangements.
Accreditation for Teachers, Psychologists and Non-teaching Staff in Leadership roles in Catholic Schools or a willingness to gain.
Experience with Administration of School (AOS) system.
Experience working with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people.
An understanding of the impact of trauma.

REMUNERATION & CONDITIONS
Condition of Service
Core hours – Full-time (4 weeks annual leave)
Tenure – Initial contract period of three years. Following successful review, a first renewal period of four years will be provided, followed by a second renewal period of three years, again after successful review. The position will be re-advertised in the tenth year of the contract.
Remuneration – to be negotiated with the Principal prior to appointment, is dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant and is at the level in keeping with the responsibilities associated with this role.
Salary Packaging – a range of salary packaging options are available as per other Catholic school employees in WA.
