Job summary

Knauf Australia is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth in customer plans and value-added offerings within the Australian market.

You will build and maintain relationships with existing clients while pursuing new opportunities, and contribute to regional sales strategy via market insight and account management. This full-time, on-site role requires travel and a proactive, customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in manufacturing/building materials industry preferred but not essential.
• Formal sales training highly regarded.
• Intermediate/Advanced proficiency with Excel and CRM systems.
• Ability to work from Fyshwick office full time – not a Work from Home role.
• Ability and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer and segment plans and identify opportunities for value-added products and services.
• Manage and maintain existing customers; aim to increase sales to current base.
• Convert market leads into profitable sales for Knauf.
• Monitor pricing and selling expenses to achieve profitability targets.
• Pursue personal development training, technical training and project experience.
• Maintain knowledge of competitor activity and report market trends to the manager.
• Resolve complaints promptly and implement changes to prevent recurrence.

Job description

About the Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for contributing to the development of customer and segment plans, identifying new opportunities for value added products and services through account plan management and to manage and maintain existing customers; identify opportunities for increasing sales to the existing customer base and analyse trends and future market needs

Some tasks as part of this role include:

• Undertake sales activities within segment/region to achieve budgeted targets and take corrective action as required
• Conversion of market leads on building approvals into profitable sales to Knauf
• Monitor selling expenses and pricing to ensure profitability targets are achieved
• Manage and maintain existing customers; identify opportunities for increasing sales to the existing customer base
• Proactively seek opportunities to develop expertise and capability through personal development training, technical training and project experience
• Maintain knowledge of competitor activity and product and report market trends and changes to direct manager
• Resolve complaints in a timely manner and institute changes to reduce or eliminate reoccurrence
