Job summary

DWS is seeking a Business Analyst to support a Land Development System, analysing business processes, defining requirements, and aiding data migration. You will collaborate with stakeholders, Digital teams, and external vendors to ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to the new platform.

The role focuses on documenting requirements, mapping AS-IS/TO-BE processes, and coordinating testing and go-live activities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support finalisation of the Business Case Requirements & Process Analysis.
• Analyse current-state (AS-IS) business processes across Land Development.
• Facilitate workshops to define future-state (TO-BE) processes aligned with future system capabilities.
• Document functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify process gaps, impacts, and dependencies across systems and teams Data Migration.
• Support data migration activities from legacy systems into the new Land Development system.
• Work with technical teams to define data migration scope (e.g. open items vs historical data).
• Assist in data mapping, data validation, reconciliation, and business sign-off.
• Support decisions around legacy data retention, archiving, and system decommissioning options Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement.
• Act as the liaison between business users, Digital teams, and external vendors.
• Support scope clarification and change impact discussions with implementation partners.
• Assist with issue resolution relating to requirements, data, and process changesEnsure stakeholders are engaged and informed throughout delivery Testing & Implementation Support.
• Support development of test scenarios and business acceptance testing (BAT).
• Coordinate and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Support defect triage and resolution.
• Assist with cutover planning and go-live readiness activities.

Business Analyst - Land Development Systems

Type: ACN Contract or Max TermSalary:Up to a maximum $220,000 package (including super pro-rata) Max-Term, or $1000pd ACN Contractor
Location: Remote with two days per fortnight in northern Victoria (all expenses covered)
Start Date: November2026
Duration: Six Months

Position Purpose

DWS are seeking a Business Analyst to work on client site. You will support the delivery of a Land Development System. The role is responsible for analysing business processes, defining requirements, supporting data migration activities, and ensuring alignment between business outcomes and technical solutions. You will work closely with business stakeholders, Digital, vendors (including Land Development partners), and the Change Manager to ensure successful transition from legacy systems to the new Land Development system.

• Experience in public sector, water, utilities, or asset-intensive environments
• Understanding of land development processes
• Experience supporting Procurement, Business Case, Business Requirements, Business Process Mapping, UAT and go-live activities
• Experience with Land Developmentsystems
• Experience with the Smartsheetplatform
