Turn station plans, livestock data and capital programs into the reporting that runs a pastoral portfolio. You will prepare Board and management reporting, consolidate station business plans, cost capital programs and keep the asset records for Paniri's properties in North Queensland, the Northern Territory and South West Queensland accurate and ready when they are needed.
Paniri Agricultural Co. owns and operates a portfolio of pastoral and farming properties across North Queensland, the Northern Territory and South West Queensland. Our regional and station managers run the livestock and the country day to day. Behind them, a small Sydney-based team makes sure the plans, capital programs, records and reporting are sound, so that good decisions get made about the land and the business.
Paniri is a member of Corporate Carbon Group, an Australian carbon project developer and advisory business that generates Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) from vegetation, savanna fire management and agricultural projects. That puts this role where pastoral operations and carbon projects meet.
Our values are Respect, Leadership, Excellence, Collaboration and Flexibility, and we mean them: we are a small team with a large footprint, and how you work with people matters as much as what you know.
Prepare and maintain the regular asset, livestock and operational reporting for Paniri management, the Group and the Paniri Board, bringing together inputs from regional and station managers and data from AgriWebb and other Paniri platforms.
Work one on one with regional and station managers to prepare their annual station business plans, then consolidate them into a portfolio view for the General Manager.
Scope and cost capital and infrastructure programs with station managers, and work with Finance on budgets, forecasts and actual-to-budget reporting for each property.
Maintain the asset registers and property information for each station, including tenure, leases, licences, permits, water entitlements, insurance and compliance dates, so accurate information is on hand for management, lenders, insurers and advisers.
Analyse operational, production and financial data to prepare briefs, options and scenario analysis, and work with our Digital Reporting and Systems Analyst to standardise and automate recurring reporting.
Be the point of contact for Finance, the Corporate Carbon Advisory carbon services team, insurers, valuers and consultants on asset information and reporting requests.
A tertiary qualification in agribusiness, business, commerce, economics, agricultural science or a related discipline.
1 to 3 years' experience in a business analyst, finance support or operations support role, including gathering requirements from operational managers and turning them into templates, plans and reports.
Financial literacy across budgets, forecasts, capital programs and variance analysis.
Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 skills, and the ability to produce clear, well-structured, Board-quality reports.
Willingness to travel to Paniri properties in North Queensland, the Northern Territory and South West Queensland as required.
Australian citizenship or the right to work in Australia, and willingness to travel to our properties in North Queensland, the Northern Territory and South West Queensland as required.
Experience in agribusiness, pastoral operations or property.
Familiarity with farm management software such as AgriWebb.
Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI.
A role with real scope across a pastoral portfolio, in a group that is doing the work of decarbonisation, not talking about it.
Genuine hybrid working: our Sydney CBD office and working from home.
Two additional days of leave each year, over and above the National Employment Standards.
Time on the ground at our stations, working alongside the regional and station managers whose plans you help shape.
A leadership team that is accessible and a culture that values directness, curiosity and getting things done well.
We welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people of all genders and backgrounds, and people with disability. If you need an adjustment at any stage of the process, tell us and we will arrange it.
