Job summary

Forvis Mazars’ Business Advisory team invites a Senior to join our Melbourne office. You will provide expert advisory services to local and international clients across diverse industries and help shape our growing practice.

Expect responsibilities including financial statements, tax returns, BAS/IAS/FBT/GST/PAYG, client communications, billing, and mentoring junior staff. A commerce degree and accounting software experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Business Services/Advisory Accounting.
• Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent; CA/CPA in progress preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting software (MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks).
• Strong client communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns.
• Prepare BAS/IAS/FBT/GST/PAYG/Payroll Tax returns.
• Communicate with clients and regulatory bodies.
• Prepare billing and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist junior staff with technical and non-technical matters.

About the role:
As part of the Business Advisory team, you will provide outstanding services to local and international clients across a diverse range of industries. You will be a key contributor to our fast growing business and will help to build our future as well as your own career.

• Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns
• Preparation of BAS/IAS/FBT/GST/PAYG/Payroll Tax returns
• Communication with Clients and regulatory bodies
• Preparation of billing
• Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Assist junior staff in a range of matters, providing technical and non-technical support

About you:

• Ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Business Services/ Advisory Accounting.
• Completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree (or equivalent) and wanting to start CA or CPA.
• Good working experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks and Cashbook
• Working knowledge of Class Super highly regarded
• Ability to lead the team and work with others
• Confidence in dealing with clients and technical issues
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
• Willingness to learn
