Job summary

RSM Australia is seeking an experienced Manager to join our Business Advisory team in Sydney. You’ll partner with clients, provide strategic and commercial advice, and mentor high‑performing teams.

This role involves leading complex accounting, tax, and advisory work while contributing to growth across clients and the firm. You’ll work across a diverse client portfolio, delivering high‑quality outputs and developing relationships with Partners and senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Commerce with an Accounting major.
• 5-7 years' experience in professional services.
• Proven experience managing and developing teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with others.
• Exposure to business development and client growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Review work papers and ensure appropriate documentation and evidence is maintained.
• Apply a deep understanding of clients' industries, business environments, and market positioning.
• Take a long term, strategic view of client needs, identifying risks, opportunities, and value adding solutions.
• Provide practical, commercial advice that genuinely enhances clients' businesses.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with current accounting and legal standards.
• Analyse management accounting reports and provide clear, actionable insights to clients.
• Design, develop, and analyse financial models.
• Identify, research, and resolve complex accounting and technical issues.
• Review income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and superannuation funds.
• Deliver complex tax planning strategies for clients.
• Manage team workflow, delegate effectively, and communicate regularly with Partners.
• Review and develop the work of junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships.
