Job summary

Alcoa Australia, based at the Pinjarra Refinery in WA, seeks a Business Advisor to support maintenance and engineering with high-impact commercial advice. You will identify value opportunities, drive cost reduction, and improve process efficiency in a fast-paced environment while engaging diverse stakeholders.

The role focuses on budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and commercial accounting to link operations to financial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is desirable or working toward CPA/CA.
• Strong analytical and modelling skills are required.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Oracle.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate cost reduction and process efficiency initiatives, applying ABS and continuous improvement principles.
• Manage month-end close, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Support strategic and operating business planning, including scenario analysis and forward-looking insights.
• Deliver performance measurement, cost analysis, and insight on key cost drivers to support informed decision-making.
• Provide commercial and management accounting advice to site and corporate stakeholders, linking operational performance to financial outcomes.
• Conduct project and investment evaluations, including financial modelling, capital vs expense assessments, and business case development.

About the Role

As a Business Advisor, you'll be a key member of the site business delivery team, supporting maintenance and engineering functions with high-impact commercial advice. You'll play a pivotal role in identifying value-creating opportunities, facilitating cost reduction initiatives, and enhancing process efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys influencing change across diverse stakeholder groups. This position is offered on a Full-Time basis M-F week and based at the Pinjarra Refinery.

You will be responsible for:

What you can bring to the role

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance CPA or CA qualification (or working towards) is desirable


• Strong analytical and modelling skills


• Strong Microsoft suite and Oracle experience


• Proven ability to influence and collaborate across functions


• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting


• A commitment to continuous improvement and commercial excellence
