Job summary

BTP, part of the Perenti Group, is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic for our Mackay workshop. This role focuses on machine rebuilds, diagnostics, and maintenance of surface mining equipment, within a team that values safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Australian recognised heavy duty trade qualifications.
• Experience on CAT, Komatsu, or Hitachi mining equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and drivetrain systems.
• Valid Australian Drivers Licence.
• Dogging Ticket is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Machine rebuilds and repairs, scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, commissioning, tuning/adjusting, and component change-outs for surface mining equipment.
• Maintain high quality of workmanship with emphasis on safety.
• Mentor and support apprentices to build confidence and skills.

Heavy Duty Mechanic – Mackay Workshop

BTPhas long term opportunities forHD Mechanic /Heavy Diesel Mechanic’sto join our team in Mackay. Day and Afternoon Shifts available.

Machine Rebuilds and repairs, Scheduled Maintenance, Diagnostics, Commissioning, Tuning / Adjusting and Component Change outs to a large variety of surface mining equipment. High quality of work and attention to detail with a large focus on personal and team safety. Working within a great team environment the successful applicant will be helping drive a positive culture while assisting apprentices build their confidence and skillset.

Key Requirements

• Australian Recognised Heavy Duty Trade Qualifications
• Experience working on CAT, Komatsu, or Hitachi mining equipment.
• Sound knowledge in hydraulic, pneumatic, and drivetrain systems.
• Valid Australian Drivers Licence
• Dogging Ticket (desirable)
• Ability to meet all site access requirements (including, but not limited to a Full Pre-Employment medical and National Police Clearance)
