Humans of Agriculture and Pavilion Farms seek a hands-on Farm Manager in Victoria to lead a 400,000-bird operation across Anakie or Carisbrook. You’ll work with AgTech to optimise bird health, welfare and efficiency on-site, while managing a small team and coordinating logistics.
This role requires practical leadership, a focus on animal welfare, and the ability to drive performance within RSPCA and processor standards. On-farm housing and a work vehicle are provided.
Humans of Agriculture have proudly partnered with Pavilion Farms to conduct a brand-new specialist recruitment search for a Farm Manager based in Victoria.
Pavilion Farms is a family-owned broiler growing business with almost 50 years of history. The operation has grown significantly since it was established in 1975 and now operates around 12 farms across Anakie and Carisbrook, placing approximately 25 million birds each year.
What sets Pavilion apart is the level of investment going into innovative technology across their farms, they are pioneering the future of precision poultry farming through a move towards AI-driven bird monitoring technology. They operate modern ventilation, evaporative cooling and hydronic heating systems, as well as biogas and fertiliser infrastructure that supports sustainability across their farms.
This opportunity can be offered in either Pavilion's sites in Anakie, OR Carisbrook in Victoria. You'll take responsibility for a farm with 400,000 birds, and provide leadership for a small team of farm hands, with the support of the wider Pavilion operation.
A big part of the role will be understanding the relationship between the things you can control and the results you achieve. You'll be on the farm, in the sheds and close to the birds. You’ll work with the AgTech Innovation Lead to learn how to utilise their technology to support your work and get the best results.
This is a hands-on Farm Manager role for someone who wants to own the performance of their farm, rather than simply oversee it.
Pavilion has the scale and infrastructure of a significant commercial operation, but it's still a business where people are expected to take ownership of their own patch.
You’ll have senior management support behind you, while still having the autonomy to run your farm and make decisions.
