Qualifications

About the job

Champion Data has an exciting opportunity for a Broadcast Technician to join our team!

The Broadcast Technician will assist in the design and architecture of broadcast solutions for clients. They will work on site broadcast as well as support casual staff remotely. The role will be required to foster strong working partnerships with stakeholders involved in delivering a graphics package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure roll‑out of hardware or solutions is to the highest standard and alert their Manager to potential risks in regard to any shortfalls that may be apparent.
  • Assist with maintenance of kits, communications with Viz technicians and operators; follow up on issues and resolutions thereof.
  • Assist with Viz Technician training.
  • Assist in the maintenance, management of broadcast equipment as required including in season maintenance & out of season audits & re‑builds.
  • Develop a skillset encompassing Viz Engine, Viz Trio, Viz Arena and in house software via studio productions as well as match day broadcast productions.
  • Proving the Broadcast Design team with software support (Viz Artist, Arena, Trio, etc.), testing and sandbox environments.
  • Provide feedback on broadcast products and lifecycles.
  • Advise on bugs, features and new developments.
  • Advise and shape new products and development.
  • Provide information on alternative solutions, new innovations, and competitive advantages.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Operational & technical broadcast client liaison and relationship management.
  • Supply weekly reports to Broadcast Operations Lead and clients.
  • First escalation of issues contact point.
  • Keep documentation on Champion Data’s hardware and software solutions.
  • Assist in Design and architecture for broadcast solutions for clients as required.
  • Liaise with external Technology providers and partners.
  • Maintain procedures and checklists to minimise on site problems.
  • Identify industry standards, best practices & improve internal systems with an eye for future needs.
  • Actively push innovation across the broadcast department.
  • Participate in regular R&D meetings with relevant stakeholders that are documented.
About You
  • Experience as a VizRT Technician and / or Virtual Graphics Technician.
  • Experience in Broadcast & Production.
  • Experience with basic computer networking.
  • A strong interest and / or experience in national sport.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • Experience providing leadership and guidance for team members.
  • Experience in a direct client facing role.
