Job summary

NEP Australia in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to work with broadcast hardware and software to provide tooling and workflows that reduce complexity for Broadcast Engineers.

Based at Andrew’s HUB in Southbank, this full-time role offers a hybrid work arrangement, occasional travel, and weekend work as needed. You will design and implement features in C++ and GoLang, collaborate with Product Owners, and help ensure quality across live events.

Qualifications

• Several years of software development experience in C/C++.
• Good familiarity with new codebases and frameworks.
• Broad understanding of coding languages and networking protocols.
• Experience with realtime video, audio processing and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features for broadcast software.
• Write secure, production-ready code (C++ and Go) and support CI workflows.
• Write tests and help iterate existing code with the team.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and profile code for optimisations.
• Collaborate with product owners and users to refine requirements.
• Provide documentation and participate in code reviews.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay current on best practices.
