Job summary

Signet Employment Hub invites applications for a Bricklayer Trainee position in a structured, workplace-based training program. You will develop practical bricklaying and blocklaying skills under the supervision of experienced bricklayers in an Australian workplace.

The program focuses on reading plans, measuring, mortar preparation and finishing, with progressive responsibility as competency grows in a real construction environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have relevant bricklaying, blocklaying or construction education, training, qualifications and/or experience.
• Relevant qualifications may include Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying or equivalent training.
• Training will be conducted in an Australian workplace environment under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Study plans and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and installation procedures.
• Measuring and setting out brickwork and blockwork under supervision.
• Establishing levels, lines and building positions under guidance.
• Preparing and mixing mortar for construction activities.
• Laying bricks and blocks to required patterns and specifications under supervision.
• Reading plans and specifications to progress through the training program.
• Using hand tools and power tools safely on site.
• Maintaining tools and equipment and adhering to safety procedures.
