Job summary

BreastScreen Queensland Townsville Service is seeking a highly skilled sonographer to join a multidisciplinary team. You will perform high-quality ultrasounds, participate in assessment clinics, and provide care, support and advice to clients in Townsville.

The role demands ASAR recognition or higher ultrasound qualifications, with a Post-Graduate qualification or Degree/Diploma in Sonography, AHPRA registration if mammography is used, and a current Queensland Radiation Use Licence.

Qualifications

• ASAR recognition or equivalent ultrasound accreditation.
• Post-Graduate Qualification in Ultrasound or a Degree/Diploma in Sonography.
• If mammography/radiography is used, hold a Medical Radiation qualification and AHPRA registration, with CMP or ability to attain within 12 months.
• Hold a current Queensland Radiation Use Licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality ultrasounds as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in assessment clinics and provide care, support and advice to clients.
• Contribute to professional development and align with BreastScreen Queensland Townsville Service.
• Travel may be required within Townsville, North West HHS and Brisbane.

About the Candidate

• Qualifications recognised by Australian Sonographer Accredited Register (ASAR):
• Post-Graduate Qualification in Ultrasound, OR
• An appropriate Degree or Diploma in Sonography (e.g. Diploma/Bachelor of Applied Science) from a recognised tertiary institution.
• If using mammographic/radiographic skills, the applicant must hold a tertiary qualification in a Medical Radiation profession and hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), AND:
• Possession of a Certificate of Mammography Practice (CMP) issued by the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT) or equivalent, or the ability to attain one within twelve months of commencing employment.
• Hold a current Queensland Radiation Use Licence.
• Travel may be a requirement of this position visiting locations within the Townsville and North West Hospital and Health Services and also Brisbane.
• Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
