Job summary

ASTAR Personnel is assisting a client in the hospitality sector in Sydney's CBD to find a Senior Bookkeeper. The role is hands-on, requires strong organisation, and experience with MYOB. You will handle day-to-day accounting duties and work as part of a close-knit team.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in a similar role, is fluent in English, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Previous hospitality industry exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end accounting functions including AP, payroll and reporting.
• Minimum 2 years in a similar bookkeeping role.
• Must hold a related accounting qualification.
• Strong MS Office and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-volume accounts payable and payroll duties.
• Oversee supplier compliance and monthly reporting.
• Maintain the accounting system, data processing and journal entries.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end financial duties as needed.
• Support senior management with ad hoc tasks.

Our client in the Hospitality Industry is currently seeking an ethical, loyal and trustworthy Senior Bookkeeper to join their team based in Sydney's CBD.

This is a hands on role and we are looking for someone that is very organised and experience to manage the day to day accounting requirements. It is a great opportunity to be involved with this successful company and be part of a great team.

You must have recent, relevant experience working with MYOB.

Your duties & responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

• High Volume Accounts Payable
• Payroll, superannuation & associated duties
• Liaising with supplier compliance
• Monthly Reporting
• Managing the accounting system, data processing & journal entries
• Helping with extra ad hoc duties from senior management and staff
• Helping with Monthly, Quarterly and EOFY financial duties

To be successful for the role you will need to meet the below criteria:

• Ideally have a minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
• Experience in all accounting functions end to end
• At minimum intermediate experience with Microsoft Applications
• Experience with MYOB a must
• Have a related qualification in accounting
• Fluent in English - writing and speaking
• Must be a quick learner
• Must be a team player & also able to work independently
• Must be trustworthy, honest and proactive with the ability to think on their feet
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• High attention to detail
• Good work ethic
