Job summary

LAI Group in South Australia is recruiting a Boilermaker to read and interpret drawings and assist in welding sheet-metal frames for switchboards or large structural steel frames. The role is based at our Direk facility in South Australia.

The candidate should understand welding specifications, have MIG welding experience, and be capable of identifying and rectifying issues prior to the next stage. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, attention to detail and problem solving.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret welding specifications and drawings.
• Experience in welding sheet-metal frames for switchboards or structural frames.
• Commitment to safe work practices and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot welding defects and initiate repairs.
• Apply appropriate welding methods for metal and structural fabrications.
• Interpret drawings to layout framework of structures.
• Secure components using clamps, braces, jacks and bolt straps.
• Inspect welds for defects and conformance to standards.
