Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld pipework, plate and structural steel.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Operate welding equipment safely and to a high standard.
• Conduct quality checks and ensure WHS compliance.
• Set up, operate and troubleshoot robotic welding systems.
• Assemble valves, flanges and fittings onto prefabricated pipework.
• Perform basic mechanical fitting and maintenance.
• Support lean manufacturing and improve workshop efficiency.

We’re seeking a skilled, motivated Boilermaker/Fitter to join our advanced manufacturing team in Thornton, NSW. This hands‑on role suits someone who thrives in a modern, innovative workplace. You’ll deliver high‑quality fabrication, welding and fitting projects while gaining experience with robotic welding technology. Experience fabricating structural steel and pipework is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld pipework, plate and structural steel
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Measure, cut, prepare and assemble steel components
• Operate welding equipment safely and to a high standard
• Conduct quality checks and ensure compliance with WHS standards
• Help set up, operate and troubleshoot robotic welding systems
• Assemble valves, flanges and fittings onto prefabricated pipework
• Perform basic mechanical fitting and maintenance
• Support lean manufacturing and improve workshop efficiency

Requirements

• Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Fitter (required)
• Proven fabrication and welding skills; FCAW and GMAW proficiency required, with GTAW or MMAW experience highly regarded
• Ability to interpret technical and engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety
• Positive, team‑oriented attitude and willingness to learn
• Legal right to work in Australia

Highly Regarded (but not essential)

• Experience with robotic welding or automated manufacturing systems (highly regarded)
• Knowledge of modern manufacturing workflows and lean practices (highly regarded)
• Current forklift licence (highly regarded)
• Current MR truck licence (highly regarded)
