The Role

We're looking for a qualified and skilled Boilermaker to join our workshop team in Pinkenba on day shift. This is a labour hire role through our recruitment partner, Haynes People, with a genuine opportunity to become a permanent team member at HMG for the right candidate.

You’ll be part of a friendly, safety‑focused crew producing high‑quality fabrication and welding work on a variety of projects. This role offers the stability of a 38‑hour week with overtime available, and the opportunity to work in a well‑equipped workshop with new equipment.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Reading and interpreting detailed engineering and fabrication drawings to bring complex projects to life
  • Performing high‑quality MIG & TIG welding on both cast and mild steel components, from small precision parts to large, heavy‑duty structures
  • Fabricating, repairing, and refurbishing industrial equipment and components for mining, construction, transport, and energy sectors
  • Building and installing safety guard rails, structural frames, and custom fabrications to exact specifications
  • Using a range of workshop machinery, hand tools, and welding equipment to produce work that meets HMG's high quality and safety standards
  • Tackling a mix of one‑off custom jobs and repeat production work, ensuring every piece is built to last
  • Working closely with a skilled team to problem‑solve, meet tight deadlines, and deliver results our clients can rely on
What We’re Looking For
  • Trade qualified - Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade
  • Solid experience with MIG & TIG welding, fabrication, and hot work practices
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
  • A positive, can‑do attitude and ability to work well with others
  • Current driver's licence and reliable transport
  • Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
