Job summary

Lactalis Australia is seeking a Machine Operator to join a fast-paced plastics manufacturing environment. Training will be provided, with progression into a Machine Operator role. The position operates on a 12-hour roster, with Day (6am–6pm) or Night (6pm–6am) shifts available.

You will work closely with Production Coordinators and the Quality team to meet production targets, ensure product quality, and uphold safety standards in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in plastic manufacturing or processing environments is preferred.
• Experience operating extrusion or injection blow molding machines is advantageous.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up, start up, operate, and monitor extrusion blow moulding and injection blow moulding machines.
• Install and change moulds, dies, and tooling for different bottle and container specs.
• Adjust machine settings (temperature, air pressure, extrusion speed, cooling, cycle times) for efficiency and quality.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to minimize waste and maintain quality.
• Perform first-off, in-process, and final quality inspections on PET bottles.
• Record production data, downtime, quality checks, and material usage accurately.
• Work with Production Coordinators and Quality team to meet targets and specs.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety procedures; apply basic preventative maintenance.
